to Diversity and Personal Growth
MELD
participants are people who demonstrate a commitment to go beyond
tolerance and extend their commitment to the issue of diversity. Generally,
MELD participants are people who:

Have
a commitment to or experience in multicultural settings and/or
managing a diverse workforce.

Are
committed to working collaboratively across both cultural and
institutional lines.

Have
track records as effective leaders.

Are
committed to continuously assessing their own biases, limitations,
and strengths.

Have
an interest in learning about the social, economic and civic issues
that challenge culturally diverse communities.

Have
the time to commit to the 12-month leadership program.
The
class is selected to maximize the diversity within the group and to
achieve participation from businesses, government, nonprofits, and
community organizations.
